Singapore is one of the developed countries in the whole world that is economically very strong that becomes possible with their policies. Their policies are designed for their people so that they can live in harmony. One of their policies that are very much praised is their vehicle acts and policies. If a person has to buy a car then they have to buy a new vehicle then they have to first obtain a COE or we can say that Certificate Of Entitlement for the same vehicle category. If one has the certificate of entitlement then it represents that the owner of the vehicle has the right to own a vehicle and have the usage of the road space of 10 years.

Why this law is appreciated?

 

If we see vehicles accidents all over the world we can see that there are millions of death happens just because of the road accidents that is one of a big number. There are many countries where one can get the vehicles very easily. Singapore is one of the smaller area places due to which their government started a vehicle quota system in which one can buy a vehicle after the COE approval after that they have to bid for the renewal of their COE after 10 years.

How it affects the country?

·         Environmental – Now there is a limited number of people who would have vehicles to drive due to which there would be fewer vehicles on the road to pollute the air. As we can see that there are a lot of problems that have been started on earth like temperature increment, global warming, etc that are making the earth weaker. Due to this the pollution generated from the vehicles becomes low that would make the environment better.

·         Traffic – when the number of vehicles gets low on the road then people would have better driving experience on the road as there would be less traffic. One can waste much of its time on the road that is not good for their efficiency. When one travels in a place where traffic is low then the person can save a lot of time.

·         Public transport – after 10 years one has to apply for the COE renewal so that they can keep on driving their vehicle in which one has to bid to the concerned department which starts from $1. After 10 years it becomes hard for people to maintain a vehicle due to which they can use public transport that is one of the ways for the economy of the country.

In this process, one has to outbid others in COE bidding systems so that one can have the COE. There are a lot of people who want to drive their vehicles as sometimes people find comforts in their own vehicle or sometimes people have work from their vehicle. Government has conducted a system in which one has to pay the price of their Car COE renewal after 10 years so that the people who really need their vehicle would have the permission to drive.
